Yale Hosts Global Health and Innovation Conference 2013

The Global Health and Innovation Conference, presented by Unite For Sight, will convene more than 2,200 “leaders, changemakers, students and professionals from all fields of global health, international development, and social entrepreneurship” at Yale University on April 13-14, 2013. Conference organizers are now accepting social enterprise abstracts. They also welcome registrants at an early-bird rate through January 31.

Scheduled keynote speakers include:

  • Jeffrey Sachs, Director of Earth Institute, Columbia University; Quetelet Professor of Sustainable Development, Professor of Health Policy and Management, Columbia University; Special Advisor to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
  • Sonia Ehrlich Sachs, Director of Health, Millennium Village Project, Earth Institute, Columbia University
  • Al Sommer, Dean Emeritus, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and University Distinguished Service Professor, Johns Hopkins University

Anthropology professor Marcia Inhorn (Yale) is a featured maternal and child health speaker, presenting, “The Global Landscape of Cross-border Reproductive Care: Twenty Key Findings for the New Millennium.” Associate professor of anthropology Sienna Craig (Dartmouth) is a featured speaker on research, monitoring and evaluation, presenting, “Implementation and Assessment of a Perinatal Health Education Program in Rural Nepal.”
