Specializations might include biomarkers, epigenetics, infectious and/or chronic/metabolic disease, the microbiome, nutrition, reproductive ecology, or zoonotic disease ecology, as well as disease patterns and susceptibility as related to climate change, multispecies interactions, and structural inequalities. Geographic area of study is open. The department values and encourages research and teaching across the sub-disciplines of anthropology. The position will contribute to the expanding undergraduate concentrations in “Medical Anthropology and Global Health” and “Evolutionary Anthropology.” The department faculty participate in Five Colleges initiatives, including but not limited to the vibrant undergraduate certificate in Culture, Health, and Science and the graduate program in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology.
