POSITION SUMMARY

The University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for the position of Executive Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center for Health Policy. The Center was established in 2007 with an initial award of $18.5 million and continued annual support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Its transformative mission is to create educational opportunities for individuals from under-represented communities to become leading health-policy scholars who can enrich the national health policy research agenda, including but not limited to bringing greater analytical attention to minority health issues.

The successful candidate will be a productive health policy scholar of national prominence with a successful record of leadership and demonstrated ability to promote high-impact, multidisciplinary research among faculty in the social and health sciences. S/he must have a) a Ph.D. in an appropriate social science discipline (i.e., political science, economics, or sociology); b) a scholarly record in the area of health policy, health services research, and/or health disparities that merits tenure and appointment at the full professor level in the appropriate social science department.
