School for Advanced Research, Director of Scholar Programs

The School for Advanced Research is seeking applications for the Director of Scholar Programs position. The Director of Scholar Programs oversees planning, implementation, and evaluation of Scholar Programs, including the resident scholar, summer scholar, and seminar programs, a colloquium series, the Cordell and J.I. Staley Prizes, and activities of the Catherine McElvain Library. This position is full-time, FLSA exempt, and reports directly to the president.

 

Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position will have broad professional training in anthropology or a closely related field PhD required, demonstrated skill as an administrator, a general knowledge of library operations, an ability to write clearly and accurately, and an understanding of the factors that contribute to a successful residential fellowship program. General knowledge of nonprofit operations, including development activities; supervisory and administrative experience; grant writing experience (NEA, NEH); proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues; active engagement in scholarship and academic service activities.
