The Pharmaceutical Studies special interest group is a forum for anthropologists and allied scholars interested in all aspects of the critical study of pharmaceuticals. Pharma Studies provides an organizing rubric for scholars interested in pharmaceuticals as particular objects of identity and control; in the specificities of the pharmaceutical industry as an object of study; in questions of development and regulation, marketing and distribution, use and expertise; and in the globalization of the pharmaceutical industry and the politics of intellectual property rights.
