MASA forum: membership

Membership is free to all SMA student members. Simply send the following information to Becky Read at mrread@crimson.ua.edu:

  • Your name and graduate or undergraduate program affiliation (if applicable)
  • List of up to three areas of research interest (thematic, geographic)
  • List of your top three concerns as a student, including those areas in which
    you most need resources and/or support.
  • List of other groups (local, academic, special interest) you belong to or work
    with.
  • Any other information about yourself that may be relevant to other student
    forum members.

The SMA elects a Student Representative to the Executive Board for a three year term (two years as the active coordinator of the Student Forum, one year as a mentor to the next Student Representative). The active Student Representative serves as the Student Forum Coordinator.
