Job: Assistant or Associate Professor of Human and Community Sustainability, Wofford College

 

Wofford College announces an Assistant or Associate Professor of Human and Community Sustainability.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. in sustainability studies, urban studies, sociology, anthropology, political science or a related field.  We seek innovative scholars who model interdisciplinary, inclusive approaches to sustainability, and who employ critical theory in studying and collaborating with urban communities.  We expect applicants to have substantial experience doing ethnographic fieldwork and participant observation with a strong commitment to public, participatory, and community work.  The position is funded by the Milliken Sustainability Initiative.  The new faculty member will belong to the Sociology and Anthropology Department and will engage in teaching, advising, supervising internships, faculty service, and collaborative work with other faculty and staff across campus as well as with community members.  Send a CV, cover letter, statement of teaching philosophy, statement of scholarly interests, and three letters of recommendation as a single PDF or Word document to SustainabilitySearch@wofford.edu by November 10, 2016.
