Society for Medical Anthropology: practicing anthropology award report 2004
Nine individuals were nominated this year
The committee, consisting of Kitty Corbettt, Nora Groce, and Linda-Anne Rebhun, after consulting with the SMA board, decided to give the award this year to Merrill Singer, and to keep the files of Linda Valleroy, Susan Hunter, and Genevieve Ames open for two more years. Because Edward Green’s file was incomplete, we suggested he re-nominate himself this coming year. We also singled out Lesley Sharp and Sandra Lane as people to watch for the future. This award attracted a large number of self-nominees.Check out our past awards archive.
