  • Wellcome Trust, Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge
    The Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge (U.K.) invites applications from candidates with interests in all areas of history of medicine who would like to be nominated for the Wellcome Trust's annual master's award and doctoral studentship competitions. The Department also invites applications for two doctoral studentships funded by a five-year Wellcome enhancement award in history of medicine. We seek outstanding candidates whose research would fall in the field 'From Generation to Reproduction', i.e. who would investigate some aspect of how, since 1500, our world of reproductive practice and controversy was created.
  • Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars Program
    The Scholars Program brings talented Latino, African American, Asian/Pacific Islander and American Indian/Alaska Native college seniors and recent graduates to Washington, DC, where they work in congressional offices and learn about health policy. Through the nine-week program (June 1 - July 30, 2004), Scholars gain knowledge about federal legislative procedure and health policy issues, while further developing their critical thinking and leadership skills. In addition to an internship in a congressional office, Scholars participate in seminars and site visits to augment their knowledge of health care issues, and write and present a health policy research paper. The program is based at Howard University.
  • Individual Advanced Research Opportunities (IARO), International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX)
    The individual advanced research opportunities (IARO) program provides fellowships to predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars from the United States for individual long-term research in Europe and Eurasia. Grants of two to nine months to predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars for policy-relevant research at institutions in the host country. Grants of four to nine months to postdoctoral scholars for research in the humanities at institutions in the host country. Grants of one to three months are now available for master's level students to conduct research on policy-relevant topics.

  • SSRC-Mellon Minority Fellowships
    The MMUF Program aims to increase the number of African Americans, Latinos/as and Native Americans in core fields within the arts and sciences, and to diversify the faculties at colleges and universities by providing support for qualified minority scholars.
