Call for Nominations: Editor-in-Chief of Medical Anthropology Quarterly

Call for Nominations: Editor-in-Chief of Medical Anthropology Quarterly
The four-year term of the current editor of  Medical Anthropology Quarterly (MAQ) ends on December 31, 2016. We are beginning a search for a new MAQ editor(s) and invite nominations for consideration by the MAQ search committee. Nominees should be associate or full professors with a distinguished publication record. While previous editorial experience is not required, familiarity with academic editing is highly desirable (e.g., prior editorial service for a journal, guest editor of a special issue, editing scholarly volumes). Self-nominations are welcome. Please note that the MAQ editor position requires institutional support. While the official start of the new editor’s term is January 1, 2017, there will be a preceding period of working with the outgoing editor in preparation for the transition.
Inquiries and nominations should be sent to the search committee chair  Janelle Taylor. The search committee will contact all nominees to invite their applications. Those interested in applying for the position should send a letter outlining their qualifications (as above) and editorial vision, along with a curriculum vitae, to the search committee, via e-mail to Janelle Taylor (self-nominees may include this information with their initial expression of interest). Details concerning requisite institutional resources will be provided to interested nominees.
If possible, the committee hopes to interview interested candidates at the 2015 AAA meetings in Denver. Please send your nominations to Janelle Taylor by October 15th to facilitate the letter solicitation and interview process.
I take this opportunity to thank current MAQ editor Clarence (Lance) Gravlee for his editorial leadership and ongoing commitment to ensuring the continued success of MAQ.
